Property Trend Perak 1999
  • Perak registered declines in total transactions and total value in property market by 12.1% and 18.1% respectively. The total value of property transacted was RM1,593.43 million.
  • The residential sector maintained the most active sector in both total transactions and total value, followed by agricultural, commercial, industrial and development land sectors.
  • The residential property decreased both in total transactions and total value by 8.1% and 0.2%. There was an improvement on low medium-cost units priced below RM100,000.
  • Although several large office buildings completed such as Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan, LUTH Building, M & A Securities Building, Greentown Business Centre, Metro Ipoh Building, the occupancy rate improved 11% to 82.5% from 71.5 previous year.
  • Retail sector dropped both in total transactions and total value by 10% and 21.2%. Kinta District accounted 55.5% share of State's total retail transactions, mainly of shophouses.
  • The transactions of industrial properties declined further by 23.3% in total number transacted, but total value transacted went up by 18.6%.
  • The agricultural property transactions decreased 20.1% for first nine months of 1999 compared to the corresponding period last year. The total value transacted also dropped by 16.8% from 289.30 million to RM240.65 million.
  • The development land sector registered drops in total transactions and total value by 19% and 45% respectively.
