- The property market in Sabah generally improved. Both total transactions
and total value increased by 6.8% and 7.7% respectively.
- The residential sector was the most active, contributing RM57.7%
of total volume. Activities fell to double storey terraced houses
priced between RM100,000 - RM150,000, and double storey semi-detached
houses of RM150,000 - RM250,000.
- Retail sector consolidated in 1999. Total transactions and total
value increased significantly by 18.6% and 20.2% respectively over
the previous year.
- The office sector in Sabah consolidated. The office rentals in
Kota Kinabalu and Labuan were fairly stable this year.
- The agricultural sector was also stable, while development
land and leisure sectors continued to drop further in 1999.
