- The property market in Sarawak made a comeback in 1999 with an
increase of 37.8% in total transactions to 10,513 from 7,630 in
previous year. The total value also increased 32.3% to RM879.59
million.
- The residential sector were most active sector in the state. Transactions
and value increased by 35.1% and 34.7%. Residential properties priced
below RM150,000 contributed 87.2% of the total residential transactions.
- The office space market was generally stable with an occupancy
rate of 86.2%.
- The transaction activity in retail property improved by 61.8%
and 34.2% in total number and total value.
- Industrial sector registered the most increased in the
state's property market by 137.7% in total transactions and 45.8%
in total value.
- The agricultural sector remained as second most active in Sarawak
contributing 38.1% of total property transactions. The total transactions
and total value increased by 37.6% and 21.7% respectively.
