- The property market in 1998 was on the
whole, lethargic compared with 1997.
- Transactions decreased in total number by
34.6% from 16,142 to 10,557 and total value by 31.6% to
RM1,219.19 million from RMI,783.59 million in 1997.
- Except for the agricultural property
sector, which chalked up an increase in transactions by 14.0%,
all other sectors experienced a decline in transactions.
- About 84.8% of the total transactions were
in respect of properties valued RM150,000 and below.
- As in previous years, the residential
sector, remained the most active sector, accounting for 60.0%
out of total transactions for the whole state, followed by the
agricultural sector at 24.1%
