- The total number of transactions
recorded a drop of 26.5% in 1998 compared to the 8.0% drop last
year.
- The total value of transactions
plunged 48.3% as opposed to the 1.6 increase last year.
- The residential sector was still the
most active sector, forming 79.2% of the total property
transactions in 1998.
- Agriculture was the least active
sector at 9.9% of the total transactions compared to
1997.
- In terms of the total value of
transactions, the residential sector also led the way at 57.4%,
followed by the commercial and industrial sector, at 16.4% and
14.6%.
- Properties priced at RM100,000
– RM150,000 were still the most popular type as indicated
by the volume of transactions at 18.0% of the total. This is
followed by the RM150,000 – RM200,000 range at 14.1% of
the total.
